Kirkjuvagr Orkney Origin Gin

Vendor: TGTMT

Kirkjuvagr Origin reflects the boldness of their Norse ancestors, the clarity of their seas, and the purity of their air. Kirkjuvagr pronounced ‘kirk-u-vaar’ is proudly hand-crafted at Orkney Gin Distilling.

Kirkjuvagr Origin is made with hand-harvested Orcadian botanicals, including Ramanas rose, Burnet Rose, Borage, Angelica and traditional Orkney Barley. On the nose there’s a fresh sea breeze with a sweetness reminiscent of sherbet, lemons and pine. Whilst on the palate it starts warm and sweet with a hint of spice, followed by a floral, smooth and long finish.

Kirkjuvagr Orkney Origin Gin

Kirkjuvagr is described as meaning ‘church bay’ in old norse.

Vikings described a haven that grew over centuries to become Orkney’s bustling capital, Kirkwall.

A local Viking legend spoke of a variety of Angelica brought to the islands centuries ago.

It can be found growing wild.

It comes as no surprise that they have included this as a main botanical in their gin.

At 43% Kirkjuvagr Orkney Origin Gin is remarkably smooth.

Contemporary in both design and taste.

Crafted with the modern gin enthusiast in mind.

To taste it is floral with notes of sea air.

Beautiful citrus endnotes are clearly captured.

For the perfect Martini just add Vermouth and garnish complete with an olive.

Best served with a Fever-Tree Indian Tonic
