Crafting premium spirits since January 2018, In the Welsh Wind is an award-winning distillery situated on the wild west coast of Wales, 5 miles north of the market town of Cardigan (Aberteifi as it is locally known) and close to the pretty beaches of Mwnt, Aberporth and Tresaith.
The team at In the Welsh Wind love nothing more than welcoming visitors to the distillery. It’s an open, welcoming, working space. On any day, you might find them expertly distilling their latest batch of the Signature Style dry gin, malting barley for their next whisky distillation, or bottling and labelling for one of their custom branded spirits clients – and that’s all part of the experience you’ll get when you visit In the Welsh Wind.
If you’re just passing, you can just drop by during the distillery opening hours to have a look around, browse the shop and have some samples or a G&T at the bar; if you’d like to spend more time with the team, you can book in to craft your own bottle of gin in the distillery Gin Lab using one of the custom made copper pot mini stills, or spend an afternoon learning more about the wonderful world of gin in a Gin Tasting Experience.
Last Friday of the month is cocktail night, when you will find the distillery open later to run a Cocktail Masterclass. Distillery tours are included in all of the bookable experiences, and the team can also offer tours on an ‘ad hoc’ basis for a small charge and subject to staff availability – or call in advance to book something in!
In the Welsh Wind is a working distillery, there are no show stills here, just good old fashioned honest blood, sweat and tears.
