Sky Wave Liberation London Dry Gin

The newest addition to Sky Wave Gin; Born of love, inspired by nature. Our latest London Dry has a wonderful story behind it.

It was created by Sky Wave’s Master Distiller Andrew who, when he asked his wife, Rachel, how she might like to mark a significant birthday, was asked ‘to make me the most wonderful gin.’  He set about creating an exceptional spirit made with all his love for her.

Then Lockdown struck, and the world was turned upside down.  But amongst the fear and the pain, a change became evident.  People were calmer, kinder, less rushed.  People were thoughtful of each other again, and communities were reborn.  We started to enjoy the quiet.  We read, we talked, we spent real time with our families.

And we started to notice nature as it grew and flourished through the Spring and into the Summer, oblivious of human difficulty.  Hedgerows flourished, meadows blossomed, birds sang – and we heard them! As we spent the time to develop our gin we drew inspiration from these changes, and from the nature all around us which many of us had never taken the time to enjoy before.

And as we emerge from the strangest of times it feels like a form of liberation.  A liberation with a determination never to go back to exactly how it was; to take the best of what we have learnt and leave the worst behind.  This is why we called our gin ‘Liberation’.  We made it through, together, but we’ll never forget.  Born of Love, Inspired by Nature.

Sky Wave Liberation London Dry Gin is a smooth, soft, perfectly balanced gin at 42%ABV, created from 9 botanicals which reflect the nature growing around us in Lockdown, including raspberries and lemon verbena. It comes in the same iconic, chunky, Sky Wave Gin 500ml bottle and has the distiller’s name and taste notes handwritten on the back label.

began as a birthday gift from our Master Distiller to his wife. Lockdown shaped the gin further as we noticed nature more and more, and reflected this in our botanicals to create a pleasingly smooth, reassuringly traditional gin.

Juniper and dry spices, specifically coriander – dominate the palate – but are balanced with zesty lemon and subtle, lifted vanilla notes. With some rounded sweetness on the medium finish, this is a very pleasing spirit.

It comes in the iconic chunky 500ml Sky Wave bottle, with tasting notes and the distillers name handwritten on the back label.
