A Navy Strength release from Frome’s Retribution Distilling Co.! Its own Retribution Gin has been blended with a 100% juniper distillate, and the gin was added until the spirit reached 58% ABV. The result is a punchy, juniper-packed gin that will louche when mixed due to all the juniper oils in it. Plus, if you lay the bottle on its side, it looks just like there’s a ship inside it. Neat!
When chilled or diluted this gin will appear cloudy, this is due to the dissolved botanical oils coming out of solution. Technically this is known as louching. This is a good thing as it shows just how many botanicals and how much flavour has been packed into each bottle.
