Nottingham Dry Apple Gin

Redsmith Distillery resurected an old style of gin and included bramley apples post distillation. A juniper forward gin, rested with Bramley apples post distillation. This compounding imparts delicate apple flavour and just a sugesstion of sweetness. This expression is Redsmith’s Nottingham Gin.

Southwell in Nottinghamshire is the birth place of the famous Bramley Apple. The first Bramley apple tree grew from pips planted by Mary Ann Brailsford circa 1809. A Bramley apple trees are descendants of this original tree. The tree planted my Mary Ann still survives to this day (although it is suffering from an incurable illness) and is tended by Nottingham Trent University
