eeNoo Gin is named after an old Scot’s phrase for ‘just now’ or ‘at the present time’. The time theme is echoed in their stunning label, and is definitely a bottle that demands to be noticed.
Having experimented with a number of different botanicals, the team at Lost Loch decided upon Royal Deeside Honey and locally grown brambles, raspberries, rosehip and heather flower. With Scottish juniper in decline, it was decided to use juniper from the Italian highlands, plus traditional botanicals such coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, lemon peel and orange peel.
The result is a traditional, smooth and slightly fruity gin. On the nose this is light, bright and enticing with the berry elements coming through strongly. To taste the raspberries really standout but not in a pink gin type of way, there’s balance and complexity here courtesy of the juniper, honey and citrus that result in something super clean and fresh.
