Colombo No.7 London Dry Gin

Vendor: TGTMT

When Sri Lanka-based Rockland Distillery released Colombo No.7 Gin in May 2015, it unleashed on the Gin world a most intriguing tale of war, resourcefulness and regulation. You see, Colombo No.7 Gin is based on a 70-year-old-recipe, one created when trade channels became blocked during the Second World War.

Colombo No.7 London Dry Gin is made with seven ingredients: juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica, liquorice root, cinnamon bark, curry leaves and ginger root. A subtly spicy gin.

Colombo Gin is a London Dry Gin with a history and an unusual list of ingredients. Juniper is dominant in taste and aroma but it is surrounded by a medley of subtle spices. A Colombo Gin and tonic is a complex, bracing world of sweet, sour and bitter. This gin is a revival of this long forgotten recipe, created through a combination of historical events and a passion for a beautiful spice garden what was once known as Cinnamon Gardens.
