The Gin To My Tonic
Little Bird Gin is a carefully crafted spirit made Little Bird Gin is a carefully crafted spirit made from a blend of ten botanicals, each chosen with care to achieve the perfect flavor profile. The resulting London Dry Gin has a dynamic nose, bustling with grapefruit, followed by a fresh palate of juniper and further citrus such as succulent orange. Spicy notes of ginger and coriander add to the complexity of this delicious gin, but it’s the big bold citrus here that shines brighter than the rest.

As for the bottle, this displays a ginger haired poster girl with a tattoo of a sparrow on her arm. Affectionately called “Ginger” and linking with the fact that ginger is a botanical within the blend, she is the work of Brighton (South East England) based illustrator and animator Jules Langran. This has been inspired by the work of artist Alberto Vargas. And perhaps better remembered, this work was imitated by airmen during World War II who decorated the nose and sides of airplanes, with colorful paintings, referred to as nose art. These were painted to inspire and motivate, whilst bringing good luck.

Banana 🍌 Gin? Well no, not quite, but banana is Banana 🍌 Gin? Well no, not quite, but banana is a contributor to this intriguing tropical gin blend.

We are keeping with Masons of Yorkshire this evening and their “Fruits of the Tropics”. A London Dry Gin, on the nose there is a steady, ripe and plentiful banana as a consistent note, while mellow citrus expressions of grapefruit and orange build throughout. A fusion of vibrant mango and crisp pineapple flood the palate; flourishing into sweet banana, offset by a whisper of passionfruit and light juniper. The finish is long and dry with tropical juicy fruits.

This gin captures the essence of sunny beaches and clear blue seas in a single glass.

Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber 🥒 Karl and Cathy M Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber 🥒

Karl and Cathy Masons always had an unwavering belief that, when it came to gin, doing things the right way without compromise would lead to the very best outcome. And thus, on World Gin Day in 2013, Masons of Yorkshire, was born.

Fast forward almost 10 years later and with over 80 prestigious awards under their belt, their range of gins and spirits continues to expand with some intriguing and tasty flavour combinations.

Tonight’s feature, Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber is cold distilled with 12 different hand-selected botanicals and is perfect for the summer months ahead. To describe the pink grapefruit provides a bright and zesty character, while the juniper adds a classic piney flavour that enriches the core. Theres a refreshing and unmistakeable cucumber freshness lifting and lingering on the finish, but overall the liquid finds perfect balance and harmony with a profile that’s super smooth, flavourful and ultimately rather thirst quenching.

Garnish with grapefruit (or cucumber) depending on your preference and start with a classic tonic first to experience the full unmasked flavour of the gin.

Beautiful Kirkjuvagr Beyla is created by Orkney Di Beautiful Kirkjuvagr Beyla is created by Orkney Distilling. Reflecting the boldness of their Norse ancestors, the clarity of their seas, and the purity of their air, Kirkjuvagr pronounced ‘kirk-u-vaar’ is proudly hand-crafted.

Established in 2016 and created by Stephen and Aly Kemp, the name means ‘Church Bay’ in Old Norse and is how the Vikings described the haven that grew over the centuries to become Orkney’s bustling capital, Kirkwall.

When creating the Kirkjuvagr gin range they cleverly decided to seek out a Viking connection that ran deeper than the name, and in doing so discovered a local legend that spoke of a variety of angelica brought to the islands by Norsemen centuries ago, which can still be found growing wild today. It comes as no surprise that this very angelica is now one of their defining ingredients, complementing a unique blend of local botanicals, including Ramanas Rose, Burnet Rose, Calamondin Orange, Borage and other secret botanicals.

Beyla, named after the Norse Goddess of Bees, takes this blend of botanicals and transforms it into a fruit inspired Old Tom with the use of fresh Scottish raspberries and Orcadian Honey. To taste the raspberries bring a beautiful sweet/tart element, whilst the Orcadian Honey adds not only an underlying complexity but also enriches the mouthfeel and finish.

Overall, it tastes as the bottle looks - beautiful, classy and distinct. Available at https://thegintomytonic.com/shop/kirkjuvagr-orkney-beyla/
Ukiyo Blossom Gin 🌸 The term ukiyo refers to Ukiyo Blossom Gin 🌸

The term ukiyo refers to a state of mind emphasising living in the moment, detached from the difficulties of life

This Japanese Gin draws on over a century of distilling wisdom, with the journey beginning by first distilling a traditional Japanese shochu spirit. They then redistill the mix with juniper, mandarin and spices before infusing it with the bright, citrus notes of yuzu and the subtle perfume of the sakura flower (cherry blossom).

On the nose there’s a complex aroma that brings to life the scent of cherry blossoms that surround the neighbouring mountains at their Kagoshima base.

To taste this is sweet and complex, with juniper, cherry blossom and citrus dominant. And if you look hard enough lurking in the background, you’ll pick up more subtle notes such as woody spice, coriander and even a little Parma violet.

The final blend offers up a soft, smooth mouth-feel, making this gin very easy to drink. The Shochu adds a subtle, earthy flavour to the final product, that’s reminiscent of its more famous cousin Sake.

Garnish with a raspberry and opt for a classic or floral tonic.

Copper in the Clouds Lychee & Raspberry Gin is mad Copper in the Clouds Lychee & Raspberry Gin is made with Juniper, Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena, Black and Green Cardamom, Lychee, Raspberry, Mint and Lemon and is presented in another fantastic bottle!

To describe lychee sweetness shines next to the sweetness of Sicilian lemon with peppery juniper and a hint of mint popping through. The whole blend is underpinned by tart raspberry. The gin is made without added sugar, relying on the fruits for the sweetness and aroma, giving it a natural pink hue.

This pretty pink gin is described by Copper in the Clouds as a blend of the “refreshing flavours” of oriental lychees and crisp British raspberries, and is said to be a “matrimony of East meets West”.

Below is their take on a Clover Club:

Ingredients
50ml Lychee & Raspberry Gin
25ml Lemon Juice
15ml Raspberry Coulis
5ml Sugar Syrup

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake hard for 15-20 seconds. Double strain into a cocktail glass and enjoy.

We are delighted to say that Copper In The Clouds will be exhibiting with us at various locations across the UK, so make sure you check them out!

Dancing Dragontail Summer Gin is a fine such example with botanicals including Wild Kossovo Juniper, Pink Grapefruit Zest, Green Cardamom, Cassia Bark, Angelica Root and Orris Root.

On the nose their is vibrant and fresh grapefruit and cardamom. Whilst on the palate there is a summery bright and sweet rich mouthfeel with a bite of tart grapefruit giving away to fragrant cardamom. The finishes sees fragrant cardamom linger with a little spice from the cassia.

Overall it’s a wonderfully refreshing floral gin with uplifting flavours, presented beautifully in their signature porcelain bottle and featuring the watercolour artwork by Helen Sweeting.

Perfect for those looming summer picnics, or those cheeky G&Ts in the garden!

A Cat Lovers Dream Bottle… Say hello to Sphynx T A Cat Lovers Dream Bottle… Say hello to Sphynx Tequila! 🐈

Sphynx Tequila comes courtesy of Yorkshire’s very own Tequila Connoisseurs, with a passion for authentic tequila and the Canadian Sphynx. It’s the first female-led British tequila brand, with the rich history of Mexico at the heart of it.

The range includes Añejo Cristalino and Extra Aged Añejo Black Oak, both of which have been aged in various French oak barrels. It’s best enjoyed neat over ice.

As for the bottle, it’s handcrafted from 100% recycled glass to create a timeless piece of art - as well as a conscious one.

Much like the Dodo Rum we recently featured, this bottle is meant to be kept and refilled. Sphynx Tequila also comes in standard bottles, meaning you don’t need to absorb the custom bottle price tag on every purchase. We’ll warn you though… if you thought Dodo Rum was expensive then this is guaranteed to make your eyes water 💧

COMING SOON! Join us on a journey across the road COMING SOON!

Join us on a journey across the road less travelled, to Scotland's most Westerly mainland point. Here you’ll find a new craft gin distillery nestled deep within the crater of an extinct volcano where, from this historic land, a new spirit rises.

Inspired by the volcanic rock which their pure water filters through (and upon which their distillery is built), their custom ceramic bottle is inspired by the beautifully imperfect igneous shapes & textures - creating a piece of art which reflects the quality spirit that resides within.

Igneous West Highland Dry Gin, is a distinctly clean and crisp Juniper forward gin with aromas of floral heather, zesty lemon and complemented by fruity Rowan Berries. #thegintomytonic
