The Gin My Tonic tour nationwide each year but our presence in any single location is usually limited to a single weekend. We are therefore delighted to be launching THE GINDEX with the aim of highlighting distillery tours, gin schools, bars and restaurants with a specialist focus on craft gin. This will aid our passionate community of gin lovers beyond our single visit, and continue to raise awareness of all those doing amazing things.

Launching in June 2023, craft gin and spirit lovers will be able to navigate our directory by location, but also by experience with the ability to filter between distillery, tours, gin schools, tastings, cocktail bars and restaurants in order to find the perfect experience.. Each listing will have its own designated page, which will contain further information, optional photos and video, and URL links.

Rest assured that we won’t be listing just any old backstreet boozer or any old distillery on The Gindex. We are keen to share quality experiences that are open to the general public and keep craft at the core.

This month we want to brighten up your gin shelves with 5 delicious and exciting gins from all over the country. We are all about championing craft and the art of distillation, here you can read about each individual company, and the gins they produce.

So, without further ado, lets start the month as we mean to go on and raise a glass to these fantastic distilleries, from afar!

Founded by Cheryl and Paul, Stockport Gin is the result of a dream that began on a rainy day in Torquay. The pair have a love for collecting local gins wherever they holiday, it was this that sparked the idea of having their own distillery back in 2019. So, instead of a new kitchen extension, they swapped their day jobs for their garage and started a gin distillery!

Out of the garage and into the town! The gin is now made at the distillery in Stockport Town Centre. Paul and Cheryl were involved in every part of the set-up process. From learning the art of distillation to recipe development and of course taste testing, they began in 2019 and haven’t looked back since! Having found their own roles within the business, Paul and Cheryl are able to both work together whilst also keeping out from under each other’s feet (mostly!)

We teamed up with Stockport Gin to bring you our exclusive, VIP Gin Club edition; Stockport Spiced Apple & Blackberry Gin. Distilled with fresh apples hand foraged from local gardens and mixed with blackberry and subtle spices, it is a perfect winter warmer.

Today, the Stockport Gin Range includes 5 delicious tipples: Stockport Original Edition, Stockport Pink Edition, Stockport Twist of Lime Edition, Stockport Pink Grapefruit & Pink Peppercorn Gin and Stockport Spiced Apple & Blackberry Gin.

With the 1st of October being International Scottish Gin Day, what better excuse do we need to have a strictly Scottish gin line up for this months Gin Tasting?!

October is our chance to celebrate and champion Scottish gin and their producers, this is where we recognise the hard work and talents of some of Scotland’s most exiting craft distillers.  This month’s line-up is particularly exciting (if we do say so ourselves!), including classic dry gins through to commemorative wedding gins, this month, we really do cover it all!

So, without further ado, lets start the month as we mean to go on and raise a glass to Scottish distilleries, from afar!

With our Edinburgh events – The Gin To My Tonic Show & Craft Rum Show – due to take place this weekend, we are keen to reach out to confirm that these events will go ahead. These events remain open alongside the majority of the hospitality industry in Edinburgh and across the UK.

NEW Mermaid Gin Review. The Isle of Wight is home to the first and only distillery, founded by Xavier Baker and Conrad Gauntlett in 2014. Rooted in the natural landscape of a unique island off the south coast of the UK. The stunning surroundings inspired Mermaid gin and provide the unique characteristics of each tipple, using only local ethically sourced ingredients.

Using Xavier and Conrad’s wealth of knowledge in brewing and winemaking, they set about combining their love for the island and passion for hand-crafted spirits. Since the opening of the distillery in 2014, Mermaid Gin has made its way across the country as well as adventuring overseas, bringing a hint of ocean air to gin lovers across the globe.

Today the Mermaid range today consists of four delectable tipples, Mermaid Gin, Mermaid Pink Gin, Mermaid Salt Vodka and the limited-edition Mermaid Zest Gin.
