The Gin To My Tonic are delighted to be giving away a bottle of the uniquely shaped Mauritius Dodo Rum. Already a fantastic spirit, the creators have taken it a step further with a unique dodo-shaped bottle presentation. This clever nod to the flightless bird, native to Mauritius, adds a playful touch and makes quite the collectors item which you can refill with a spirit of your choosing once empty.

Hentony Gin is the creation of university friends

Hentony Gin is the creation of university friends Anna & Agnieszka from Evesham.

Classic head turning styling is combined with a clever use of botanicals, notably black, pink and szechuan peppercorns with grapefruit, lime and subtle lavender.

Bold and flavourful are words that spring to mind, but don’t left the peppercorns trick you into thinking this is spicy affair, this is well balanced, aromatic and adds a bite to the drinking experience where needed. It has all the trademarks of a good solid London Dry, and much like the bottle design the liquid itself celebrates simplicity that’s stylishly executed.

Nordes Atlantic Galician Gin is a gin we absolutely adore…

Nordes Gin began with a meeting of three friends, with an expertise in either wine or distilling. They dreamt of producing a true Galician Gin, and after a bit of trial and error the result now sits before us.

This Spanish gin is made with Albarino-grape-based spirit (rather than traditional grain spirit), and includes 11 botanicals, 6 of which are local and prominent within the blend including sage, laurel, verbena, eucalyptus, peppermint and a type of seaweed called glasswort. 5 additional botanicals are incorporated from overseas, including juniper, ginger, cardamom, hibiscus and black tea. It’s an intriguing blend.

It’s important to highlight that there’s a real freshness to this gin, thanks to its Atlantic Ocean inspiration. Clean, distinctive and full of floral flavours, it’s supported by subtle herbs. Floral notes dominate this gin delivering on the nose and palate. A subtle herbaceous charm enhances the floral freshness, and there are touches of citrus and spice to add interest but neither are more than a supporting act. This isn’t a “ginny” gin by any means, in fact it’s a fairly modern affair with the grape based spirit naturally sweeter in nature, but juniper does get a flash moment in the spotlight on the finish. What we do love about it though is its super smooth, moorish and just damn right tasty. It’s hard not to love this…

As a serve pop a few grapes in for garnish and serve with Fever-Tree Mediterranean. Overall it’s bright and breezy, a gin well suited to the warm weather, and to those that like a modern gin.

Taste of Summer ☀️

Hands up if you are eagerly awaiting Summer? This flavoured extension of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin may well tide you over until then. Adding California Orange Citrus flavors to their signature base of Juniper, Angelica, Orris, Caraway, Coriander, Meadowsweet, Cardamon, Star Anise, Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit and Gunpowder Tea, it’s pretty damn delightful.

The gin delivers the promised citrus aromas and flavours, tasting just as good and rich as the bottle looks! Other botanicals still shine though, with the trade mark tea notes still coming through on the finish to enrich the blend and add complexity. The body of this gin is rich with herbs, spices and hints of floral flavours, and whilst none outshine the headline citrus, it respectfully pays homage to the original Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin (Blue Bottle) which is a must have within any gin collection.

As a G&T add a slice of grapefruit to garnish and a tonic of your choosing and summer has officially arrived - or in your glass at least!

NEW MERMAID 🧜‍♀️

Mermaid Spiced Rum is the fifth edition in the Mermaid spirit range, which includes Mermaid Gin, Mermaid Pink Gin and Mermaid Zest Gin, along with Mermaid Salt Vodka.

Marrying Caribbean rums from Trinidad and the Dominican Republic, the rums are then infused at the Isle of Wight Distillery with their signature botanical rock samphire, fresh white cherries, apricots, honey from their beehives and black salt from the Island’s coastal flood tides.

The rum is gently spiced with local holy grass, cassia and vanilla resulting in a smooth yet complex rum with a hint of sea air, delicate caramel notes and vibrant fruity spice. A tropical island blend made for sipping on island time.
